Fourth Aircraft Carrier Barge Shipment Complete

Four sections of the Centre Block 03 were loaded using Self Propelled Hydraulic Trailers (SPMTs) at A&P Tyne, Newcastle, to a new C Class barge and then towed to the Firth of Forth on the 11 September 2011.

The Units were then rolled off, again using SPMT’s, at G-berth in the non-tidal basin within Babcock Marine Facility at Rosyth for storage.

 When fully assembled and installed these sections will form the flight deck on top of Lower Block 03 which was delivered earlier the same month.
